Bidding farewell to the Municipal Market of Kypseli

Five years ago, the emblematic building of the Municipal Market in Kypseli re-opened its doors, under the management of the Impact Hub Athens. The space was transformed into a meeting and reference point for the Athenian public, focusing on culture, education, social innovation and entrepreneurship, as well as the strengthening of the local economy.

Now Impact Hub Athens bids farewell to the Kypseli Municipal Market and for that it has prepared a memorable event for us; it starts with an interesting open discussion around the topic of the reuse of buildings (public and non-public) in terms that enhance the local economy and the life quality of the residents of an area. Later on, live performances and a party will follow.

"Everyone Together at the Museum": A Community Program of the Museum of Cycladic Art

The Community Program “Everyone Together at the Museum” of the Museum of Cycladic Art came to its end for this year and we’re so happy to see how beneficial and fun it was for the little artists!

The Program provided children of various nationalities and social/cultural backgrounds with the platform to exercise their fundamental right to self-expression, to practice and communicate through art, and to face each other without feeling any sign of discrimination.

It included educational workshops at the premises of the Museum with the participation of children from Polyphonica and the Network for Children's Rights, and outside the Museum for children that study in cross-cultural elementary schools.

Learn more about all Museum’s Community Programs here.

InCommOn is "Closing the Food Cycle" at the Municipality of Papagou-Holargos

We’re very happy to announce our collaboration with InCommOn and the funding of their project "Close the Food Cycle".

The project seeks to co-create with the Municipality of Papagou-Holargos the appropriate tools for the effective management of food residues and it aspires to achieve the gradual behavioral change of all involved parties (Municipality, citizens, local businesses) towards the food waste and the formation of a new recycling habit through the brown bins.

The long-term goal is for no food waste to end up in the landfill again and for the "Close the Food Cycle" pilot to be successfully replicated and implemented in other food waste streams and -most importantly- in other Municipalities, consolidating the values that are cultivated in more and more citizens.

Joining the solidarity trip of ActionAid Hellas to Senegal

Over the past week we were privileged to take part on a solidarity trip to Senegal with ActionAid Hellas. Now we’re back but yet we can’t find the right words to articulate our experience from this transformational journey.

ActionAid Hellas has been supporting ActionAid Senegal since 2011, where the latter carries a tremendous work on the field of Senegal for women’s rights, education, resilience building due to climate crisis, and youth engagement.

Through its children’s sponsoring program, ActionAid Hellas is reinforcing two regions in the country, Bakel and Djilor. Witnessing with our own eyes how by sponsoring a child you actually contribute to a better livelihood of a whole community, made us realize the great value & impact of this program.
