HIGGS is a non-profit organization founded with the support of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, dedicated to strengthening the social economy ecosystem in Greece and beyond. Through training, consultancy, and networking, HIGGS nurtures initiatives that combine social and environmental impact with sustainable business practices.
Introduction & utilization of donation
With the support of the Helidoni Foundation in September 2025, HIGGS is launching a new Incubator Program designed to bridge the gap between early-stage social economy initiatives and the support structures they need to thrive. The program targets entrepreneurs and organizations that have identified social or environmental challenges and are ready to develop solutions with sustainable revenue models. Participants will gain access to a comprehensive set of activities, including bootcamps, thematic workshops, mentorship, and networking opportunities, all aimed at strengthening both their social impact and business sustainability.
The grant also enables HIGGS to raise awareness about the program and the steward-led governance model, reaching emerging entrepreneurs, university students, and existing social initiatives across Greece. Through communication campaigns, informational seminars, and partnerships with universities and alumni networks, the program seeks to inspire and engage a new generation of social economy leaders.
Looking ahead, the Incubator Program is designed to create lasting effects beyond the immediate funding period. By equipping initiatives with knowledge, skills, and connections, HIGGS ensures that participants are prepared to grow their organizations, attract resources, and achieve sustainable impact. The program strengthens the broader social economy ecosystem, fostering a culture where purpose-driven ventures can thrive and contribute meaningfully to society.
